A group of dozens chemists have published a timely moral clarion article, simultaneously in Nature Chemistry, JACS, Angew. Chem., Chemical Science, and Canadian J. Chem., calling for building a scientific community that is more diverse, equitable and inclusive so that the currently marginalized scientists can truly thrive onward. The authors show a broad representations, including PhD students, early career researchers, seasoned scientists, as well as Nobel laureates. As one of the corresponding authors of the article, Safia, a PhD student from TongLab, has made substantial intellectual contributions to initiating, writing, revising and publishing this important piece of work that can have lasting societal impact beyond mere scientific research.
