June 26, 2019. Safia's essay on The Chemistry Graduate School Experience was selected among a few out of more than 80 submissions to the invitation by C&EN of the American Chemical Society. It is a reflective essay describing her experience on how the yearly intersection of Ramadan and her doing chemistry research as a PhD graduate student brings new spiritual refreshing perspectives for her to continue doing good as a scientist.
