09/08/2014: A new paper from TongLab just appeared on the ChemComm website

A new paper entitled "On the chemistry of activating commercial carbon-supported PtRu electrocatalyst for methanol oxidation reaction", first-authored by post-doc Dejun Chen, just appeared on the ChemComm website on September 2nd, 2014. The research reported in this paper offers a molecular-level description of what happens on the commercial Johnson-Matthey carbon-supported PtRu/C electrocatalyst during the necessary electrochemical activation process and what constitutes the optimal activation. These molecular-level insights would help design better anodic electrocatalysts for direct methanol fuel cells.
