04/24/2015: Dr. Tong Comments on Signing the Open Letter that Backs for Fossil Free Divestment

Dr. Tong signed an open letter that was drafted by GU Fossil Free and signed by 97 Georgetown faculty members calling for the university to divest from the top 200 fossil fuel companies which was submitted to the Office of the President on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. The Georgetown student newspaper The Hoya has published an article on the letter that quotes Dr. Tong's comment on signing the matter: "It’s just common sense. Most scientists including myself believe that carbon emission is the main reason for climate change and global warming, so this is one way that you can push society to realize that this is a very urgent issue for us and the whole planet".
