01/14/2015: A new paper from TongLab has appeared on the ChemPhysChem early view website

A new paper entitled "Measuring Level Alignment at the Metal-Molecule Interface by in situ Electrochemical ¹³C NMR" by Ying Li, Brian Zelakiewicz, Tom Allison, and YuYe J. Tong has been published on the ChemPhysChem early view website on January 13, 2015 (DOI: 10.1002/cphc.201402889). The paper reported a new technique to measure energy-level alignment at a metal–molecule interface between the Fermi level of the metal and the frontier orbitals of the molecule. The method, which combines the electrochemistry of organo-ligand-stabilized Au nanoparticles with ¹³C NMR spectroscopy (i.e. in situ electrochemical NMR), enables measuring both occupied and unoccupied states.
