The Tong Lab @Georgetown started in Fall 2001 when Dr. Tong took a tenure-track assistant professor position. Dr. Tong had the luck of having an experienced and mature 3rd-year graduate student, Brian Zelakiewicz, join the Lab even before he had started. Brian's previous mentor had decided to leave Georgetown and it happened to be that Brian's research interest overlapped with that of Dr. Tong's. So that is how the Tong Lab started and the rest is history. There have been lows but the Tong Lab has overall had a good run up to this moment, thanks to the hard work of everyone coming through it. The following slideshow brings back some old memories.
